Kharcha is a digital cash book run by Your Business Name ("we"). This policy explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

  • Account: name, mobile number, email and password (stored encrypted, so nobody can read it).
  • Business details you add: business name, logo, address, phone, email, GSTIN.
  • Records you enter: cash in and out entries, remarks, parties (names, mobiles, emails of your contacts), categories, payment modes and reminders.
  • Payments for plans: the UTR / transaction ID and optional screenshot you submit. We never see your UPI PIN or bank details.
  • Basic logs: last login time and a log of emails and SMS sent, used to fix delivery problems.

We don't read your SMS, contacts, photos or bank account. We only store what you type or upload.

How we use it

To run the app: show your books and reports, send the alerts you turned on (email through our mail server, SMS through Fast2SMS), send reminders, verify subscription payments, and give support. We don't show ads or sell your data.

Who can see your data

A business owner decides who joins their business. Partners see all books, and staff only see the books and actions the owner allows. Everyone in a business can see who added each entry. If you choose "remind the party", that contact gets an SMS or email about the payment. Our site administrator can access accounts for support, to verify payments, and to stop misuse. We share data only with the services that deliver it (email provider, Fast2SMS, and Google if you connect Drive) or when the law requires.

Google Drive

If you connect Google Drive, we ask only for access to files Kharcha creates (the "drive.file" permission). Backups are saved in your own Drive. You can disconnect at any time in Business Settings, or from your Google account.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep data while your account exists. Owners can delete entries, books or a whole business at any time. Deleting your account removes it and every business you own straight away. Excel files you download are stored on your own device.

Security

All traffic uses https. Passwords are hashed. Access is checked on every request based on your role and book permissions.

Children

Kharcha is not meant for children under 13.
